Y6 Goblin Car Project
Our Y6 pupils are part of an amazing project, sponsored by Greenpower, to design and build a Goblin Racing Car. The children will be using maths and science skills to produce the car, ready to race it around the streets of Hull, on July 16th, as part of the City of Culture celebrations.
CATCH VISIT
All our Y6 children spent the afternoon at Catch, Stallingborough (an apprentice training centre) where they were supported in their car build by apprentices and volunteers.
TEAMWORK!
The children worked in groups to build sections of the car. They had to work as a team and solve problems, including locating some missing parts!
They had great fun, seeing science and maths in action!
SUPER STEM OPPORTUNITIES
The Y6 children are looking forward to the project ahead. They are busy designing the bodywork of the car back in class.
They will also be pitching our car in a Dragon's Den style presentation to persuade local businesses to sponsor us!
