Children who have Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities

Our commitment to all Children underpins our work but we recognise that we have additional responsibilities for children who have been identified as having special educational needs or disabilities (SEND).

Our SEND information document (The Local Offer - see the link below) aims to provide useful information for parents about how SEND is approached at this school.

Admissions into school should be through the usual processes but there is lots of additional support that can be made availble across different agencies and services. Just get in touch to discuss the best way forward for your child. As a school we will made any reasonable adjustments to ensure that children's needs can be met. We are a single storey building with wide access available for mobility vehicles. We have an accessible toilet/changing area and a shower area. In the main hall we have an induction loop to assist those with a hearing impairment. Within the curriculum we have an inclusive approach so that every child gets supported to achieve their potential - sometimes this requires specialised equipment, adaptions or support  but this is always discussed in an open, solution focussed and positive partnership.

Parents/carers are of course always welcome and encouraged to come and discuss their child's progress and or development with their class teacher, the School's Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator - who is Mr Smith, or with Mrs Wood the Headteacher.

Please ring school on 01472 882261 or email: if you need us.

If you have a complaint about Special Educational Needs and Disabilities please contact school directly. Our complaints procedure is located in the Policy section of this website. You can alternatively contact the Local Authority Special Educational Needs Service Manager.  Email:  Telephone: 01472 323236
