Lego Junior Stem Robotics

UKS2 completed a lego stem workshop where they had to write algorithms to make a lego model move. One task was to build a lego monkey and write the code to make it drum. They then used a light sensor to control the speed of drumming. Some children also made a fairground ride and a car. It was a fantastic experience and our children are expert coders now! Some of our children even participated in an after school session.

EEK DAY! STEM workshop at Phillips 66

Our Y6 children were invited to the EEK! Day (Educating Engineering KIds) at Phillips 66. They had to participate in a range of problem solving activities ranging from: building towers with straws; designing, making and racing cars; experimenting with distillation and learning all about the local power industry. They even met racing driver NIck Hamilton, brother of Lewis Hamilton, who was an inspiration to us all!
