This term's topic is: Are zoos ethical?
This term we have visited the Yorkshire Wildlife Park. We participated in a workshop on Endangered Animals and Conservation. Our children formulated their own questions about how the animals are cared for and looked carefully at their habitiats and enclosures. We had a fantastic day and, despite the rain, we learned so much about the animals in their care. We will be writing discussion texts in class on the subject: "Are zoos ethical?". Please enjoy looking at photographs of our visit.
In the Conservation and Endangered Animal workshop, we had the opportunity to see a leopard skin. Unfortunately, the leopard had been killed for its skin and sold. We felt really sad that this had happened.
We had to arrange the animals in ascending order according to how many there are left in the wild. There are only 70 Amur leopards left in the world!
